• Stereotypical blonde- dumb- Drew Barrymore- we are supposed to feel sympathy for her (juxtaposition between anger and sympathy for her)

• Creaking of the swing-signifies horror
• Dogs Barking-Something has been disturbed
• Non-diegetic music when the man in the scream mask says..?"Who I am looking at". This increases tension, fear and suspense
• Syncronous sound of popcorn popping
• Ambient sound of the wind
• Funeral music when the parents enter to represent death

• Close up shots to show fear
• Tracking-shots, to show the emptiness of her house
• Quick zooms, highlighting fear
• Dutch tilts and canted angle shots, used to disorientate us
